It was a strange scene at Ijare community in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State where at least 36 cows belonging to fulani herdsmen were struck dead by lightning.
According to our source, Heronation gathers that the herders took their cattles to a Oke Owa Bush which is a sacred place by tradition and only the King is permitted to it.
It was also reported that none of the herdsmen died because they ran away when they saw the wrath coming.
According to Punch, the Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Police Command, Mr. Femi Joseph, said it was “natural disaster.”
“It was a natural disaster and there is nothing anyone can do about it,” Joseph noted.
Also confirming the incident, the state chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Bello Garuba, described it as “sad” but the owners should take heart because it was an act of God.
“It was an act of God; the owners must take heart,” Garuba said.
