FC Barcelona Striker, Luis Suárez has been under huge criticism from Liverpool fans and the entire English Media for his goal celebration against his former club (Liverpool) in the Uefa Champions League semi final First Leg at the Camp Nou Stadium which is the home of Football Club Barcelona.
Luis Suárez gave Barcelona the lead at the 26th minute and celebrated the goal which is his first Champions League goal this Season and first since April 2018.
Liverpool fans were not pleased with his goal celebration at Camp Nou and couldn’t hide their feelings that Suárez disrespected them and the club.
While reacting to the criticism, Luis Suárez during a press conference ahead of Tuesday match against Liverpool at anfield said that he has all respects in this world for Liverpool who has also given him lots of respect during his years at Merseyside and he won’t celebrate his goal if he scores them this time.
“Celebrating the goal last week, people know about Football,who love this sport know the importance of the goal I scored in the Champions League Semi Final” he said.
“I have all respect in the world for Liverpool but because I scored it and celebrated with my fans I say sorry but the Liverpool fans would applaud me but I am very thankful to Liverpool to the fans, to the club”.
“Now it’s so clear that if I score a goal against them I won’t celebrate it like I did it in Holland when I scored” Suárez added.
Liverpool will face Barcelona at Anfield in a bid to turn the tie around by having a comeback after they lost the first leg match 3 nil at Camp Nou Last Tuesday.
Barcelona on the other hand are looking forward to secure their first Champions League final in four years and are on the verge of winning a treble for a record third time.
