Former Nigeria president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo popularly known as OBJ marked his 82nd birthday on Tuesday and different messages poured out from esteemed Nigerians to congratulate him for his age milestone.

One notable message he got yesterday was that of current President, Muhammadu Buhari which erupted into mixed reactions from twitter handlers.

It is well known that both OBJ and President Buhari have an undeniable political difference and the most recent one was when OBJ endorsed former vice president and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar against President Buhari before the Presidential polls of which President Buhari still won the election.

Despite his grievances, president Buhari took to his twitter account to celebrate and congratulate the former president.

The president in his words wrote:

“As he celebrates his 82nd Birthday anniversary, I wish chief Olusegun Obasanjo more good health, knowledge and wisdom in the service of Nigeria and humanity.

The former president is a passionate and great patriot who deserves accolades for his immeasurable contributions to our democracy and national unity.

Regardless of our political differences, I still hold him in the highest esteem because his contribution to the development of Nigeria overshadows those differences” Buhari said .
