Dino Melaye has said the result of Kogi State PDP gubernatorial primary is totally unacceptable.
Senator Dino Melaye has cried out after watching his aspiration for the Governship position of Kogi State slip out in the gubernatorial primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
The PDP gubernatorial primary on was held on Wednesday for who will be the party’s flag bearer to unseat Governor Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress APC.
After the collation of results, Musa Wada who is the younger brother of former governor of Kogi State Idris Wada emerged winner of the poll with a total of 748 votes to clinch the Party’s ticket.
Wada closely followed by Abubakar Mohammed Ibrahim who is the son of a former Kogi state governor Ibrahim Idris. Mohammed Ibrahim scored a total of 710 votes
He was closely followed by Abubakar Mohammed Ibrahim, the son of a former governor, Ibrahim Idris (Ibro), who polled 710 votes.
Captain Idris Wada, the immediate past governor of Kogi State emerged third with a total of 345 votes..
Senator Dino Melaye came out fourth with a total of 70 votes.
Others include Aminu Suleiman- 55 votes, Victor Adoji-54, Erico Joseph- 42, AVM Saliu Atawodi (retd.)- 11, Emmanuel Omebije- 9 votes, Mohammed Shuaibi- 4 votes, Bayo Michael- 2 votes and Jabiru Haruna- 0.
It is also recorded that the primary election was characterized by shootings by hoodlums which many party delegates fled to save their lives.
Dino Melaye has rejected the election result after he also fled for live and marking that his votes from only two out of ten ballot boxes was counted claiming the result is unacceptable.
“It is rediculous to declare a final result of Pdp Governorship primary election in Kogi State when my votes sorted out yesterday in 8 out of 10 ballot boxes are missing. Only to declare votes in 2 out of 10 ballot boxes as my votes. Totally unacceptable.” He said.
